Challenge

A previous SEO company left The BlindBroker with issues of over-optimization and keyword cannibalization between multiple pages on the website targeting the same keywords. Their website felt cluttered and lacked visual features that are important in their line of work and wanted their site to look more clean and professional like their manufacturer’s site.

Solution

To boost SEO we focused on quality link building to increase the website’s authority to Google, and we also utilized on-site optimization strategies on city pages and service pages to boost the website’s local relevance since all of the keywords we were targeting were local intent. We gave their website an updated, more modern look with a focus on visuals and making it easy for users to navigate and view products.

Almost every day people either call us or email us requesting appointments because they found us on the web searching for a window covering retailer. Even in these extraordinary times, we continue to generate solid sales numbers from our web presence.

We targeted 30 keywords beginning in Year 1. Of those 30 keywords, 25 have moved into the top 3 positions on page 1, and 18 have moved into the #1 position on page 1. Additionally, 12 keywords that were on page 2 or beyond are now on page 1, and 28 of the 30 targeted keywords have improved their organic ranking.

Interactive Features

The BlindBroker wanted to increase awareness and drive traffic to their showroom. We decided to add a section highlighting their showroom on the homepage in which users can hover over a panoramic photo of the showroom. Other interactive features we added to enhance the user experience of this site include hover states that look like blinds opening and a products mega menu that displays a photo corresponding to the product a user hovers over.

A Visual Website for a Visual Business

Choosing window treatments is a visual experience, so it was especially important to incorporate lots of imagery on this site. We added a Design Gallery with filtering by product type and included it on interior product pages to make it easily accessible for users.
